Delhi storm chaos! 25 flights diverted. #DelhiWeather #IndiaWeather
HeadlinesNow reports a major update on the severe weather conditions impacting the nation. Delhi experienced a sudden and violent storm this Sunday morning, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The downpour caused significant flooding in several areas, including Minto Road, Moti Bagh, and near Delhi Airport Terminal-1, submerging vehicles and creating traffic chaos. This severe weather event has severely disrupted air travel, with over 100 flights at Delhi Airport affected. A significant number, more than 25 flights, were diverted to other airports. Many more faced delays, and some were unfortunately cancelled, leaving numerous passengers stranded and disrupting travel plans across the country. This comes as the monsoon season officially begins across several states. Adding to this weather crisis, the national heatwave, 'Nautapa', commenced today and is expected to last until June 2nd. The monsoon has also already made an early arrival in Kerala, hitting the region eight days ahead of schedule on May 24th. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued warnings for heavy rainfall and storms across 21 states today. Additional alerts include hailstorms in Uttarakhand and a dust storm combined with heatwave conditions in Rajasthan. Reports also emerged from Himachal Pradesh about potential cloud bursts in Kullu district following heavy rainfall Saturday. The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely and issue regular updates to the public. The impact on national transportation, agriculture, and infrastructure is a growing concern. The situation demands immediate attention to prevent further damage and disruption.Explore more: Madhya Pradesh News
