Kanha Tiger Reserve tragedy: Tigress death shocks India. #KanhaTiger #WildlifeConservation
HeadlinesNow reports a tragic incident at Madhya Pradesh's renowned Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla. A female tigress, estimated to be 8-10 years old, was found dead on Tuesday near the Sulkum river in the Mundi Dadar forest range. Preliminary investigations suggest the tigress perished after becoming trapped between two rocks, possibly due to a recent landslide triggered by heavy rainfall. This is the sixth tiger death reported in the reserve this year. MP's wildlife conservation efforts are always under scrutiny; however, swift action was taken following the discovery. A team, including officials from the NTCA (National Tiger Conservation Authority), the Chief Wildlife Warden, local administration, and representatives from the village, conducted a thorough investigation aided by a dog squad. A post-mortem was performed by veterinary doctors, and samples have been sent for forensic analysis to determine the exact cause of death. The tigress's remains were respectfully cremated in the presence of all involved parties. This unfortunate event underscores the challenges of balancing wildlife conservation with the unpredictable forces of nature in our State's pride, Kanha Tiger Reserve. The incident highlights the continuous efforts of Madhya Pradesh's forest department and wildlife experts in protecting our precious tiger population. The ongoing investigation into the tigress's death will help improve safety measures within the reserve and enhance conservation strategies for the future. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all wildlife within the Kanha Tiger Reserve and across Madhya Pradesh.Explore more: National News
