HeadlinesNow reports a massive fire broke out at Rohit Poddar's BT Cotton Industries in Burhanpur's industrial area on Sunday evening around 6 PM. The intensity was such that plumes of smoke were visible from 5 kilometers away. This incident highlights the importance of robust fire safety measures in Madhya Pradesh industries. The blaze quickly spread, prompting immediate action from authorities. Fire brigades from Burhanpur Nagar Palika Nigam, Shahpur, and Nepanagar rushed to the scene to battle the inferno. According to Nagar Nigam fire officer, Basant Patil, three fire fighters and a tanker are actively involved in extinguishing the flames. As a precautionary measure, residential areas and nearby factories were evacuated to ensure the safety of citizens. Around 7 PM, police forces from four police stations arrived to manage the crowd and maintain order. There were no reported casualties; however, the extent of damage to the factory is still being assessed. SDM Pallavi Puranik confirmed that additional fire brigades have been called from neighboring districts. While there are currently no reports of casualties or significant property loss outside the factory, a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire and to assess the full extent of the damage, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
