According to HeadlinesNows report, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather alert for 16 states, warning of thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds.

The alert, issued Sunday, comes as several regions are already experiencing extreme weather conditions.

Tragically, two deaths were reported in Gaya, Bihar, following a wall collapse attributed to the inclement weather.

In Delhi, the roof of a rapid metro station was damaged by high winds, highlighting the intensity of the storms.

The IMD has also issued heatwave warnings for Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, where temperatures soared above 43C in several cities on Saturday.

Rajasthan experienced intense dust storms and rainfall in three districts on Saturday, while Madhya Pradesh saw a dramatic shift in weather conditions, with thunderstorms in some areas.

The IMD has issued yellow alerts for 5 districts in Rajasthan for heatwaves and 14 districts for heavy rain, and a yellow alert for 21 districts in Madhya Pradesh for thunderstorms and heavy rain.

In Bihar, an orange alert for 26 districts and a yellow alert for 12 districts has been issued, with predictions of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.
